Which Is Harder to Learn PHP or JavaScript?

May 21, 2022     Harder, JavaScript?, Learn, php, Which     No comments

PHP

PHP is a server-side scripting language that can be used to create web pages. PHP was originally developed by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994, based on his experience with the POSTQUERY web page tracking software for the NCSA HTTPd server. The acronym "PHP" originated from the phrase “Personal Home Page” and was meant as an abbreviation for "PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor".

The abbreviation has since been criticized as confusing and vague, since it does not explicitly stand for anything; however, in order to prevent trademark issues with Sun Microsystems' Java programming language (which had used its own abbreviated form JAVA), Larry Wall renamed PHP's main web server module from HTTrack to High Tech Transaction Language (HTTPd) at one point during version 2 development.[14]

Since version 5.3 released in November 2010, support for running PHP scripts through CGI has been discontinued due to security concerns related with using CGI after years of poor configuration.[15][16][17]

JavaScript

  • JavaScript is a scripting language.

  • JavaScript is used to make websites interactive.

  • JavaScript is used to make web pages more dynamic. For example, if you’re using a website and you click on something, it will change color or move around the page. This happens because of JavaScript—it’s being used behind-the-scenes to make your experience more interactive than it would be otherwise (and makes for some cool animations, too).

  • JavaScript can also be used for creating games and desktop applications; it has even made its way into mobile apps as well!

PHP is Harder to Learn

PHP is harder to learn than JavaScript because it's more complex. PHP is a dynamic programming language, whereas JavaScript is a scripting language. This means that PHP has objects, classes and exceptions and can do things like handle databases and create web pages dynamically.

JavaScript doesn't have the same capabilities as PHP; it's mostly used for simple web applications and client-side code (such as AJAX). That said, if you want to get into web development or make websites interactive, learning JavaScript will give you some valuable skills in addition to your understanding of PHP.

That’s why we recommend starting with HTML/CSS first before moving onto client-side languages like JavaScript or server-side ones like Python/Ruby on Rails
